ARMA Toronto – Information Management Symposium 2011

May 24

Wednesday June 1 – Save the date if you are a records or information management professional in the Toronto area! The annual spring IMS will be held at the Toronto Metro Convention Centre (North) from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. The keynote speaker is the highly regarded Information and Privacy Commissioner for Ontario, Dr. Ann Cavoukian.

I will be representing Candy Strategies, talking about the importance of open standards and open source, and what information management professionals need to know. This topic is one I’ve presented to audiences in Brighton UK, Boston, South Carolina and now at last to my Canadian peers. It’s an important one, not only with respect to long term preservation issues, but also as a way for organizations to start taking more control over their Information Management roadmap.

I’m also quite happy to see on the agenda, a long-time professional friend, Keith Atteck, of Vale Canada. Keith brings many years of RM and ECM experience in the demanding global resources sector. I’ve known Keith for well over a decade, and look forward to hearing his perspectives on turning risks into reward.
