Apr 18

AIIM is coming to Ottawa! The First Canadian Chapter in Toronto has graciously agreed to mentor a fledgling chapter right here in #YOW. We’re pleased to announce our inaugural seminar, to be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the centrally located Ottawa Public Library on Metcalfe Street. Map

Our topic is “eDiscovery: Issues and Trends that Impact Canadian Organizations“, and will be of interest to information management practitioners and consultants in both public and private sector.  Two highly-regarded experts in the area of eDiscovery will participate on the panel discussion. We’re very pleased to have Mr. Dominic Jaar (National Leader for eDiscovery and Information Management at KPMG LLC) and Mr. Stephen Ludlow (Senior Program Manager for eDiscovery and Information Governance at OpenText) with us on the morning of May 12.

Full agenda and event Registration Information on EventBrite. There’s no charge for current AIIM members, and a nominal $15 fee for non-members to cover the cost of room rental.

This is a really exciting time for AIIM as an association. As President John Mancini recently said, “it’s the beginning of a new era for AIIMin the world of information management. This new focus is to continue to build the reputation and track record of industry education, research, and of course networking for professionals across many aspects of the ECM / Information Management world.

It is this focus on “networking” that inspired our team in Ottawa to work hard and build a new Chapter to serve the incredibly deep ECM/IM community in the Ottawa/Gatineau/Kingston region. If you live or work in the 613 or 819, we’d love to have you come out to the May 12 event!

A big thanks to everyone who is helping to get the new chapter up and running…. Jessica Lombardo at AIIM HQ, Winnie Tsang of Toronto First Canadian, and my planning team in #YOW, Andrew Pery, Debra Power, Gord Briscoe and Chris Cline.  See you in May!
